Top 3 Backyard Airsoft Sniper Rifles
We love sniper rifles. All different kinds, from spring to AEG if it has a long barrel and a scope, we’re in. I’ve collected a quick list of the top 3 sniper rifles from our store. Great for some backyard sniping action these are all accurate at much longer ranges than shorter barreled AEG’s.

How about a fully automatic, AEG accurate sniper rifle? Sounds good. With the M14 AEG from UTG you can almost have it all. In CS:S this would be call the “noob cannon”. I’ll have to admit though, it does deal a massive amount of pain with pretty good accuracy making it very fun. Only 340 FPS but that’s the trade off for full auto action.
2. UTG L96 Shadow Ops Army Digital Camo Spring Airsoft Sniper Rifle $135.00
Absolutely love this gun, the look and the operation. Look, AEG sniper rifle rifles are for pansies, there’s only one word in masterful snipery (yes I’m coining new words) and that is “spring”. Try 460 fps on for size.
3. UTG M14 AEG Sniper Rifle FPS 340 Electric Airsoft Gun $135.00
Continuing the spring love is the springer version of the M14 from UTG. If you like the M14 style and not the arctic warfare style of the L96, this gun will suit you. I dig the camo!

The following are my top 5 airsoft sniping tips that should help you make more effective sniping kills with your favorite airsoft sniper rifle. The first one is obvious, but it’s worth seeing them all to help you make them habit.
1. Walk and move quietly.
2. Wear terrain matching camaflouge.
3. Listen to your environment, familiarize yourself with sounds.
4. Always plan your entry and exit route.
5. Only take 1 shot, once you fire your cover is exposed.
Sniper teams should be 2 at the most, with either 1 spotter and 1 shooter, or two shooters who can spot for each other. Always account for wind, atmosphere and distance.

Tokyo Marui Steyr AUG Airsoft Assault Rifle
Steyr Aug Tokyo Marui Airsoft Rifle
As a long time player of Counter-Strike, I absolutely love the Steyr AUG, long a staple in the high powered rifle category of CS and CS:S (although arguably not as popular as the M4/AK). Tokto Marui is one of the elite brands of airsoft guns, and this Steyr AUG is an excellent example of their top craftsmanship.
Some of the Steyr AUG SR features:
- EG700 Motor
- Version 3 Gearbox
- Long Barrel Length (increased accuracy)
- Left or Right hand use.
- Body is mostly plastic, mimicking the plastic body of the real counterpart.
- Bull-pup style means longer inner barrel.
- Variable (one shot to full auto) shooting speed is based on trigger pressure.
- Raised rail on top of gun for accessories.
- FPS is a conservative 285 (although anyone that knows Tokyo Marui knows that’s not why you buy a TM gun)
This is a very nice gun, and a nice break from the M4 based rifles which dominate Airsoft.

BB Gun Wars Video – Airsoft
I found this airsoft video this afternoon on Google video search, it’s hosted at YouTube and presents a sort of promotional video of sorts for airsoft skirmishing. Created by a few film students for a local Chinese airsoft store, the video gives a primer on the hobby of airsoft and has several minutes of Airsoft skirmish action.
The owner of the airsoft store shows a popular M4 rifle used by the players and also outlines some of the apparel worn. Military realism is key, as you’ll see most of the players are dressed head to toe in replicate/authentic military attire.
